Valtech France has just won it single largest
account so far in the company history. The
record-breaking win came at a time when
the French market is still suffering from
the global downturn.
It took a dedicated sales team effort 8
focused months to win AGEFOS a French semi-public
institution whose business is to collect
money from small and medium-sized companies,
and redistribute it to finance their professional
training projects. AGEFOS is the leader
in France for this type of activity.

The € 2,2 million fixed price project
is scoped to last 18 months with an average
staffing of around 15 people. Valtech France
has won the job of re-factoring AGEFOS'
core system, based on J2EE technologies.
It uses Weblogic 7.0 application server
relying on a Linux cluster, Sybase 12.5
database using Solaris, "fat"
Swing client, and some periphericals applications
to integrate (an ERP called Qualiac, some
customer-specific applications, and some
technical components). This application
(NSI) will be deployed everywhere in France
and will have to support several hundreds
of clients at the same time.

A decisive reason why Valtech France won
AGEFOS was because they managed to demonstrate
strong combined business and technology
understanding of AGEFOS and equally as important
had substantial references from other large
projects. Finally the collective team dedication
and long haul focus on pitching for the
client also made a difference. In the pitch
for AGEFOS Valtech was up against established
competition such as Unilog and T systems.
